Our Story

It all started with a simple idea: a relaxed, welcoming local spot that makes genuinely inspiring coffee — somewhere people could meet friends, catch up, and slow down for a while.
Today, Brew & Cru is a family-run favourite on Harpenden's High Street — the kind of place regulars drop into for a weekend brunch, a mid-week catch-up, or a flat white on the way to somewhere else. We've since opened a second home in Welwyn too, bringing the same care to everything we make, from our speciality coffee to our breakfast and lunch menu, using the best ingredients we can find.
We're proud to serve beans from Union Roasters, one of the UK's original speciality coffee roasters — coffee that's as good for the farmers who grow it as for the people drinking it.
